President's Week and a Good Snow Storm

Monday was President's Day. This week we wanted to focus on learning about the rest of the presidents.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was Franklin D Roosevelt and he was president during the Great Depression. He was elected 4 times. And was a beloved president. He was in a wheelchair because he was paralyzed by polio.

Harry S. Truman made the decision to drop the Atomic Bomb on Japan. Sorry Japan, but you attacked us first. My mom says the S stands for nothing. Sssp, it actually stands for something, don't tell my mom!
(Yes, his grandfathers. They couldn't decided which one, so they just put just S.)
Hey you're not meant to know that!
    (😇)

Dwight D. Eisenhower banished squirrels from the White House grounds to save his golf putting green and both parties wanted him to run. He stated interstate highway plans.

John F. Kennedy was publicly assassinated, he was a world war II hero who saved his crew on a boat that got bombed and he started the race to the moon.

Lyndon B. Johnson continue the space program and tried to end poverty. He made traveling easier by expanding highways.

Richard Nixon was the only president to resign because he went against the law and surprisingly, the next president pardon him.

Gerald Ford was never elected to be vice president or president.

Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer🥜 . He lived to be 100 years old. 👎I think that's very old. He was a great humanitarian.

Ronald Reagan loved jelly beans a lot, and his favorite flavor was liquorish.

George H. W. Bush went sky diving for his 85th birthday. While president, he helped win a lot of wars.

Bill Clinton was the second president to be impeached and was involved in several scandals.

George W. Bush was the second son of a former president to be elected. Remembered most for September 11th.

Barack Obama was the first and only African American president. Like Chester A. Arthur, whether he was born in the United States or not was a controversy.

Joe Biden was the oldest elected president before Trump's second term. His German Shepperd, Major, was the first rescue animal to live in the White House.🊮

Donald Trump is the oldest person in US history to be elected president. He is the only president to be impeached twice and the only president to be impeached and re-elected.

Math: A1 finished his review.

Science: A1 watched more science videos.

Tasmanian Tiger may not of gone extended. They have very large mouths.

Sperm Whales go very deep but no one knows why. They have stuff in their heads that people thought was sperm for a long time.

Saltwater Crocodiles are smart. Don't underestimate a croc's intelligence.  Yes, crocs aren't just the smartest by reptile terms, but by any term. They are one of the only predators humans still have and it takes a lot of people to catch one. The biggest one ever to be recorded took three weeks and one hundred people to catch. People learned you can't take a croc from their native habitat, because they will always come back no matter how long it takes.

Language Arts: Informative essay writing. Here's his report:

Snakes

Did you know all snakes can swim? Even desert dwelling snakes, like the rattlesnake,

can swim! Snakes have many similarities, a lot of difference, and are often seen as

dangerous, but they are fascinating creatures.

Snakes have many things in common. All snakes have scales. Also, they all shed. All

snakes slither two. But did you know, that some snakes, like the python, have little legs?

Snakes have many differences, too. King Cobras are the only snake in the world to

make nests. Some snakes give live birth and some spit venom. Some are poisonous

which is different from venom.

Lots of people think snakes are dangerous because they have venom and camouflaged

so people step on them and that’s when they bite. And because they think snakes are

aggressive and that snakes are out to get them. But snakes are really out to run, or

slither, away from you. Unless it’s a Black Mamba, then get out of its way because they

really are dangerous.

Snakes are fascinating creatures. They’re cataloged as reptiles because they have

scales and are cold blooded and that’s why they are not found in cold places. They

each have their own unique characteristic and people are still learning more about

them. Just this month, it was reported that a new species of snake was discovered in

Mexico. We still have a lot to learn about these misunderstood animals.

A2 is writing more words.

We worked a little more on her reading and we read Little House on the Prairie together. Plus, we finally got snow. A2 went sledding with K around the house. Later, Dad took all the kids sledding up the mountain.
