Week 13

Fun Fact:

The days of the week were named after celestial objects. (And the Norse gods associated with them.)

In order: the sun, the moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn (Saturday)

As hard as we try to keep a regular homeschool schedule, life happens. In this week's case, A1 and his brother were sick, our main vehicle was out of commission, there was a mid week holiday, and an emergency vet visit for my daughter's cat. But we tried our best.

Math: A1 worked on converting and multiplying fractions. He began dividing fractions as well.

LA: A1 wrote more of his story and worked on Exact path. In addition, he had a rare speaking opportunity. In our church's main meeting, instead of having a pastor deliver a sermon, they asks members of the congregation to speak. This week, they asked our family. A1 got practice public speaking in front of hundreds of people as he presented a talk that he wrote.

Science: A1 watched more Zoology on crash course and Mia academy life science classes. He worked a little in his nature notebook as well. We also had the rare opportunity to see the northern lights.

For history/PE, Dad took A1 on a motorcycle ride to an old mine.

With everything else, we were not able to do US History this week.

However, even with being sick, A1 was able to attend Chess club and travel club. He made it to piano lessons, too. Thankfully, the teacher allowed us to move it back one day.

On Friday, A1 and A2 decided to turn our family room into the beach. I love their creativity, which I think is one of the most important skills our children can hold onto.

A2 had Joy School one day this week, as well as story hour.  She also reached another 100 books on her 1,000 books before kindergarten. We made cookies to celebrate.
