Week 12

The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live.

— Mortimer Adler

Math: A1 learned how to multiply mixed numbers and convert units of  measurement and time. For example, hours to days or feet to inches. He also did Exact Path and we signed up for a Prodigy membership since all my kids love to play.

LA: We are doing the PBS kids read-a-thon. He is almost done with the entire Fablehaven series. He also did Exact Path, began typing lessons, and attended OpenEd's meet an author with Scott Savage. And A1 is working on writing a book for his brother based off of Prodigy Math. Below, you can see his planning out of creatures the characters will meet.

Science: A1 is taking Life Science through Mia Academy and is watching the Crash Course in Zoology. He also attended OpenEd's how animals survive in the winter zoom class.

History: Now that we reviewed how the government was set up, we are back to the history of how the constitution was implemented in the early days of our country and how the early government set up relations with other countries.

Health: A1 created fruits and vegetables using Legos and labeled their colors and if he likes eating them or not. He also made his favorite food, the donut, which he labeled as unhealthy.

If you look, you can see things like berries,
a watermelon, a banana, grapes, an orange,
and, his personal favorite, a large purple iced donut.

More Learning: A1 is doing chess club again this month. For the month of November, he is trying out the travel club as well. He would love to visit the Great Wall of China. As you can see, we love the fun clubs and classes OpenEd provides.

He built more forts and with the weather staying so warm, we've spent lots of time outside, too.

Him, J, and K have been enjoying strategy games as well.

A2 is loving preschool and reading books. Her and K also painted sparkly pumpkins.
