This week it was my turn to be sick, fortunately, Dad, a former history teacher, had half a day off to help. I taught a math lessons on word problems with fractions while Dad taught a social studies lesson on US westward expansion. In reality, it would be amazing if he could teach all the US history lessons as he's a way better social studies teacher than I am- I leave it up to Mia Academy.
Math: We arrived midway through Singapore Math: Primary Mathematics US edition, book 5A. A1 worked on the mid book review.
Language Arts: A1 worked on Exact Path as well as spelling. He enjoys writing stories to practice his spelling.
Science: A1 is cruising through his zoology course. He loves anything animals. He is also making progress on his life science/biology course. Our winter greenhouse garden is also continuing to slowly grow.〜〜〜〜〜
Extras: A1 had a great time in chess club and finished either 3rd or 2nd overall. He also enjoyed trying out travel club. He is continuing with piano lesson and practicing Christmas songs. He also got some baking in. On the day I was sick, I was very grateful that he was able to make cheese sandwiches for himself and A2. He was very helpful when, a couple days later, Dad and J were sick, too. We also got a lot of time outside as, by the end of the week, the weather warmed up and everyone was feeling well again.
J, K, and A2 have also enjoyed playing strategy games and escape room games.

A2 had story hour and Joy School. We also worked on her 1,000 books before Kindergarten even though it was a little slow going this week. Her and K enjoyed playing in the mud after the rain. I would much rather them in the mud than on a screen, and love all the healthy benefits that come with it, too.
