If injuries come in three's, I hope we've met the quota. K was climbing a tree with some dead branches on it. Well, one of those branches broke and sent him, not only tumbling to the ground, but gave him quite a gash in the leg.
It was just deep enough, or should I say, shallow enough, that deciding whether to do stitches or not was a close call. In the end, we just taped the gash. Hindsight 2020, the tape didn't work too well to keep it closed, and stitches may have been the better call. Such is life.
Later in the week, A1 had a fun party with friends at an amusement park. On the last Go-Cart ride the birthday boy crashed, or more accurately, someone crash into him. He broke his wrist.
Then I ended up nearly breaking my toe in our greenhouse. We did couch school for awhile there, while I waited to see if it was just bruised and swollen or truly broke. Looks like we're in the clear on that one. PSA- Avoid kicking hard things, especially with bare toes.
We have some great news though. J finished Pre-Algebra this week. 👏 She worked so hard to finish early and we are proud of her.
A1 and K have also been working away at their math.
K's exciting news was he lost his first tooth. I won't post it here, but he also has been working hard on penmanship and wrote his name beautifully.
K and A2 had a special music time at the library.
For art, A2 drew a tent,
And a spotted cat.
She played with slimy sand.
And did some fine motor activities. The circle on the bottom on this loom fit golf pegs perfectly.
We also took advantage of warmer days.
A2 also experimented with chalk on paper.
We continue to do geography, where we just finished learning about Australia.
And had a safety day.

Speaking of warmer days, K helped put new sand in the sandbox.
Of course, over the past couple weeks, we've had amazing real world experiences, too. When it comes to learning, real world experiences are what invoke the greatest amount of awe and wonder. For example, over the past months, we have watched our friendly, wildlife neighbors grow their winter coats, drop their antlers, and now shed their thick fur.
In early mornings, with quiet excitement, we all gather around and watch them grazing in our yard. I'm willing to sacrifice a plant or two, for these are the moments most remembered.
