This week, K started Forest School. He will go once a week on their enrichment days where they focus on art, science, PE, and music. A2 joined for the day, too. This time, they planted seeds in a green house.
A1 started piano lessons.
A2 got a real life working vacuum she was eager to try out.
She then asked if she could take apart her old toy vacuum apart. We're all about fostering curiosity, so we gave her a screw driver and let her explore.
Afterwards, K, who loves to build, helped her put it back together.
He also had fun coding on the computer this week and built his new Mel Science Kit.
We had some furniture delivered, which meant we had some big boxes for the kids to unleash their creativity on. They built houses complete with working lights.
J and A1 also tried out lots of new and old baking recipes. J made sugar cookies. A2 made cinnamon rolls and muddy buddies. We also had a fun treat at the library for story hour. This time, we had music as well as stories.

We then got to explore and tinker with different toys.

And then headed to the park to enjoy the 50+ degree weather in February.

K found a spiky pinecone at the park.
Back at home, the kids had fun spelling wording using Banana Grams. I love that A1 used blank tiles to represent punctuation.
With the warm weather, we've been spending lots of time outside, too. We love counting how many fawns pass through our yard. One day, there was a doe with four!
We learned a little about the last 4 South American countries.
Ecuador means Equator. It is the top producer of bananas. It has the highest active volcano in the world. Because of its elevation and that it is on the equator, it is the closest country to outer space. Only 10 percent of rural students go to high school.
Guyana has the world's largest single drop waterfall. Its official language is English. It's national animal is t he jaguar. Giant anteaters also live there.
French Guiana is a colony of France.
Suriname main export is gold. Dutch is its official language, and they still struggle with piracy.
J and I also took over the world in Risk as we learn the country's names.
