This week we studied engineering. K built another Crunch Labs kit, and A1 explore the world of 3D printing.
For art, three of the kids made abstracted painted art folders, while A1 opted to trace dragons from a book.J has been working on crafts, too.
As always, we spent some time reading fun books. The two littles loved the pop up books. We are participating in PBS kids read-a-thon. If kids read an average of 20 minutes a day, they get free tickets to a lot of fun places around the state.
We're almost done with our state's history and this week K finished his first grade reading curriculum. It honestly wasn't my favorite curriculum, so I probably won't use it for other kids, but I do like how it has both fiction (Story about a baby duck and girl wanting a pet) and non fiction. (Learning a little about states). The fiction stories were also written like chapters to get them used to that format.
