Things to do in Blanding, UT with Kids

We had so many things we wanted to see in Southeast Utah, but didn't get to it all. Bluff Fort and Nations of the Four Corners Cultural Center were two places we wanted to visit, but didn't have time to get to. Blanding also has a dinosaur museum. It is only open during the summer months, so we missed visiting that as well.  But we did get to see some other cool things.

With only half a day to explore Blanding, we first headed to see Nations Natural Bridge and the Five Kivas, also known as the Westwater Ruins.

We were going to hike up to the five kivas, but the trail is really not maintained and there was broken glass everywhere. Not exactly the rocks I want my kids scrambling on. So, we opted for a view across the canyon.
Saw a hogan nearby.

We then headed to the Edge of the Cedars Museum. They have large display of Ancestral Puebloan artifacts. They even have a stabilized kiva that you can climb inside of.

We then spent some time letting our kids run around "the blue park".
Afterwards, we went bowling at the gas station. Yes, I wrote that last sentence correctly. They also have an A&W restaurant there, so we got food and bowled a game. Our littlest one knocked down the most pins and won.

After that, we headed home for some much needed rest. As the winter months settle in, we will be taking a break from traveling.
