My kids were so excited to go to the aquarium. The first things that they saw was the escalator to get down to the aquarium. I'm not sure they ever remember being on one before and they had a blast riding up and down and up and down.
It's a pretty small aquarium and took us just 30 minutes to see the entire thing. We ended up buying feeding tokens and going though again while waiting for the time where we could go in and pet these beauties.
They have a wide variety of animals from fish, to reptiles, to birds, and a few mammals. So I guess it's more of a mini zoo, with an emphasize on fish. The highlight of the trip was going in and petting the Bengal cats.
A2 was too short to reach the cats while they were walking around, so they let her have a real quick pet while they ate their dinner.
In all, we would go again, if in the Layton area. But if we didn't have free tickets, we would wait until after 4:00 pm on a weekday to take advantage of their $5 a person deal. And I would budget $20 plus dollars to feed the animals if you'd like more of an interactive experience. (They are $2 a token or less if you buy more at once) For my family, $30 dollars would have been enough to let them each have a few experiences.
While the animals were awesome, the employees were also great. You can tell they love the animals they work with.
Before leaving, we walked through one more time to say goodbye to the animals. Even the eels came out to say goodbye.
