Science!

This week was heavy on science, with art mixed in. K had a project where he was given random materials to create a tree.

K and A2 planted plants in our root finder.  First they wet the dirt disc and watched them expand.
They've been watering everyday. No roots yet.

J finished Earth Science on Mia academy, while A1 has been playing with a magic science set.
Bubbles from the wand, you can hold in your hand

Sand that repels water
Snow that doesn't melt
created magically from water.

The kids also built igloos from marshmallows and toothpicks.
Well, they built something from marshmallows and toothpicks.
They also built with, and ate, all our remaining candy Legos.

For art, they created stamps and then "printed" them on paper.

K, among other things, enjoyed painting with a toothbrush at forest school.

A2 enjoyed a musical activity of playing the "drums".
J and A2 expanded their countries as if their rooms were like the wardrobe in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. They answered questioned about the culture, religion, foods, landscape, etc.  They also drew maps.

For math, K experimented with the weight of different items in the house.
The flower clip and the cat toy weighed the same

We continue with health as well. We spent more time on effective communication.
