Welcome to the Center of Creative Learning

Hello, welcome to the Center for Creative Learning.  I, J, will be your guide for today.  Let's meet our staff.

Here is Dragon.

Mr. Dragon

You might recognize him as our our mascot from last year. He has now been promoted to principal. He takes the safety of his students very seriously. If a pencil is too sharp, he won't let you use it. He also nibbles on our assignments to make sure the paper is made of at least 50 percent recycled material. He's environmentally conscious like that. He makes sure we students have plenty of brain breaks. If he thinks we're working too hard, he'll sit on our school work.

Here is Ms. Artemis. She's the secretary.

She likes to keep the office dark

She's also the truancy officer. She wakes everyone up at 2:00 AM just to make sure they are on time to school. If they fall back to sleep, she wakes them back up at 7:00 AM to make sure she has her breakfast before everyone is off to school. Someone needs to tell her about the importance of sleep.

I guess I should mention, we also have about 100 baby dragons. Yes, dragons (Artemia Salina).
I'll turn it over to "A" to report.

They are very small. They live for a few months. They hatch right when you put them in the water. You need a microscope to see them when they hatch. Their eggs can be out of water for as long a they need and they will still hatch when put in water. Scientist had dehydrated eggs 20 years old and they still hatched when they put them in water. They need fed every 2-3 days. They don't have a mouth and they eat through their wings. They have been around since the time of the dinosaurs. Prehistoric dragons! Back to J.

Thank you, A.

Here is our teacher. She's kind of crazy, but we love her.

For the first day of school, we had a dance party with balloons.

To the left is, Tabatha, our PE teacher. For some reason, PE every day is repetitively throwing a tennis ball as far you can for as long as you can. She sure gets a lot of running in. When were not exercising our throwing arm, she takes us swimming, hiking, and, of course, hosts the dance parties. She's also the school's security guard.

This is Dad.

He's our IT guy. He keeps all our electronics running and up to date. He helps the dog with PE, too. For some reason, people don't appreciate dog slobber on their expensive equipment.

Now you have met all the staff of the Center for Creative Learning. See you next time.
