Week 37

Math- J worked on multiplying and dividing decimals, A had a review. They still enjoy playing Prodigy.

Social Studies- We read and discussed the Declaration of Independence and talked about what's in the Constitution of the United States.

Exploring Tech- Typing and coding

Music- Learned about Beethoven and Mozart. Listened to their music while writing stories.

Science- We wanted to see what would happen if we tried dying colored chicken eggs instead of white eggs. We picked the lightest brown and green eggs and let them experiment.

One day we went to the park to find it flooded. Time to learn about how water changes the environment. They had a lot of fun building dams and changing the water's path as well.  We went back a couple days later to play again. They could see where the water had been, where it was and was not still flowing, and the impact it left on the sand as it cut through.

Another science lesson we had was on simple machines. They got to play around with using pulleys, levers, ramps, screws, wheel and axle, and the wedge.

LA-  We finished reading These Happy Golden Years, from the Little House Series. We also talked about different versions of a story. They rewrote their own version of a story. J did Rumpelstiltskin. A did The Three Little Pigs.

PE- Last week was winter, now it is spring. The trampoline is back up and being loved daily.

All About K and A2

They helped make homemade recesses cups. That's a messy business with a preschooler and toddler. They also get read to everyday.
