Week 45-46

These past two weeks were swim lessons for the 3 oldest.

We are also participating the our local library's summer reading program.

Here they're experimenting with magnetism

For fine motor K made a paper clip chain.

And we taped up some packing paper on the wall and let the little ones color.

We're also giving them plenty of free time to learn and explore on their own. Such as building a blanket fort.

The kids put together all the puzzles we had that were 100 pieces or less.

The 3 youngest went to the cabin to play.

While J got to practice "ninja" at a park.

And witnessed baby chicks hatching from their eggs at Grandma's farm. Captured on video! Watch below:

It was a good 2 weeks!

Week 43 and 44

With it being summer, and a hoe in my hand more often than a camera, the frequency of these post will be slowing down. I do believe one of the best things we can do for kids is to let them have plenty of unstructured play time to develop their own imaginations and the explore the world around them. So that has been the bulk of their learning these past few weeks.

J finished all of her math. A learned if he was quiet about it, I'd forget, now that our schedule isn't so strict.  Hm...

We also went to the library to keep them well stocked with books.

Games have also been on our list. Math and critical thinking are two things kids learn while playing games. J has continued to improve her board game. Her goal is to submit it to a game company for consideration.

All About K

We got some little crayons to help with proper grip.

And a water activity to build strength in his hands.

K has also been helping plant the flowers and the garden.

As a family we also took a walk to see the flooding reservoir.
